This latest study put five of the most popular Java IDEs up against each other and included Borland JBuilder 2005, IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.1.2 (WSAD), Netbeans 4.0, Eclipse 3.0.1 and MyEclipse, and Sun’s Studio Creator 4.26. 

The study evaluated each IDE o­n the bases of:   

• Ease of use
• Features and Functionality
• Performance
• Plugin support
• License and support costs
• Standards support
