“Corporations today are facing a double-edged sword of increased delivery requirements coupled with stagnant IT budgets,” said Wayne Parrott, vice president of product development for Genuitec. “By delivering some of the most in-demand technologies at an almost-free price, enterprises utilizing MyEclipse Blue Edition can greatly increase their capabilities and virtually eliminate their IDE budgets.”
With new, extensive tooling for JavaScript development as well as unmatched support for REST Web Services, MyEclipse 7.0 Blue Edition is clearly emerging as the leader in the WebSphere space for agile Web 2.0 development and ALM management. Additionally, MyEclipse 7.0 Blue Edition is delivered on top of the Pulse Eclipse Management Platform, which allows users to efficiently customize and maintain their MyEclipse environments both at the individual and corporate level.
“WebSphere shops up until this point have had to muddle through weighty tools and extend an immense amount of time and energy to utilize new technologies,” said Pete Carapetyan, product manager for Genuitec. “WebSphere developers need the ability to negotiate their projects efficiently and intuitively all while keeping costs down. MyEclipse Blue fulfills all of those requirements.”
Blue users will also note enhanced support and delivery of Maven. As an enhancement of the Maven4MyEclipse tooling found in 6.5, users can now choose between using Maven in its raw format or the fully-integrated Maven4MyEclipse solution. This allows more full customization of Maven tool capabilities dictated by user needs.
The 7.0 release includes new support for or upgraded additions to:
- Advanced JavaScript tooling for WebSphere
- New Plugin Dashboard
- REST Web Services wizards and explorer
- OpenJPA support for MyEclipse Persistence tools
- MyEclipse Reports enhancements
- UML1, UML2 upgrades
- New JSF views and enhancements
- MyEclipse ICEfaces tooling
