Production release expands Linux support, portal development and Websphere application editor and configuration management

Genuitec has announced the latest production release of MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench Blue Edition 8.5.

“The newest release is built to operate seamlessly on Linux operating systems, includes WebSphere data source editing tools and features Genuitec's Collaboration Application Lifecycle Management (C/ALM) technologies.

“MyEclipse Blue Edition now includes support for Linux, furthering the options for developers and decreasing the barriers they face with operating system constraints. These are the types of choices that are allowing more enterprises to remove their dependency on Rational tools to manage their WebSphere stack and collaborate effectively,” said Todd Williams, vice president of technology for Genuitec. “Additionally, with the new collaborative features included in Blue, IBM customers feeling stuck with Rational tools to deliver software have a next-generation technology at their fingertips – all for a fraction of Rational’s high costs.”

For $150 per seat, developers can create the highest quality Web and desktop applications at the lowest cost on the market, and with new Linux support, the cost of creating marketable software – with speed and agility - is overwhelmingly low. Also, Blue users deploying to WebSphere will benefit from the new WebSphere Application Resource Editor, which allows users to configure JNDI data sources, classloader options and virtual hosts for your enterprise application.

MyEclipse Blue Edition users get additional support for WebSphere Portal Server 6.1, the most recent and most-requested version of this server. This is of special consequence, as many WebSphere developers also wrestle with Portal on a daily basis.
