I just started using Myeclipse Porfessional edition. It is a great tool so far with Jboss, OC4J and Glassfish j2ee servers.

Now I am playing with BEA WebLogic SDK, Version 10.1

I can start and stop example servers which comes with Bea in Win xp with no problem. I want to do the same thing using Myeclipse. I have not created any domains of my own.

Questions:

1) How can I integrate wl 10 in my eclipse?
2) How can I start and stop BEA exmaples servers within Myeclipse?
Please provide all the steps as I am not familiar with Bea products.

3) What is best free j2ee server fro myeclipse?

I will definately appreciate you help in getting me up to the speed.

To setup WL, you need to go to Windows > Pref > MyEclipse > Server > WebLogic > WebLogic 10.x and setup the connector to look like this:-

You can refer to this doc for more help:-

We don't have a personal favorite. This really depends on what you want from the server. You can google and compare the servers to get an idea on what suits your requirements.

gangaram,
I believe since WebLogic 9 it will create a default profile for you, then you just follow the steps Nipun mentioned for configuring the WEbLogic connector in MyEclipse, that's it, you're done.

As for the "Examples Server", I am really not familiar with this at all... does WebLogic ship a profile that contains examples or something? Could you clarify a bit?

I am using Weblogic as 10.0 . As per the suggestion link http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-16833.html ,I do not see any sub directory (like domains/basedomain ) under user_projects except workspaces in my c:\bea\user_projec

BEA WebLogic SDK, Version 10.1 which comes with Weblogic AS 10.X. It comes with couple of example server se this http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/server_start/startquickref.html

Strange... I guess fire up the admin tool and see if you need to create a new profile or not.

You might want to check out the .bat file or script that the Medical Records link is calling, find out if it's just a different example profile that is being started, and then try and duplicate those settings inside the MyEclipse WebLogic connector.

If that doesn't work, you can always just connect the debugger remotely to the examples running on that server by using the remote debugger as outlined here:
