MyEclipse: Newbee - how to install/run the SNAPs? dj_coleman - Feb 17, 2010 - 09:25 AM Post subject: Newbee - how to install/run the SNAPs?
I have downloaded the latest all-in-one and installed it. I can start the full IDE no problem and it all works. I can also use the HTML editor there fine.
It is not clear how to configure/install the SNAP for HTML editing? I have checked various docs for the last hour but cant see anything obvious.
Can you please adviuse how to install the SNAPs? I am only really interested in the HTML wysiwyg editor.

DJ,
The SNAPs are unfortunately not available for the current release of MyEclipse. We will be taking another look at bringing them back later this year, but I cannot commit to that yet. Please note that within MyEclipse, you can still use the HTML editor on files which don't exist in the workspace by using the File > Open action. Hope this helps.dj_coleman - Feb 18, 2010 - 08:00 PM Post subject:
ok well that explains why the SNAPs do not work.
I only downloaded myEclipse for the snap html editor - that was over 700MB. Then the installer downloaded another 700MB... then I find out that the thing that you have all over your website and in demos is not included. Very misleading and a waste of my time.huisma13 - Feb 18, 2010 - 08:30 PM Post subject:

No, it didn't, it copied (installed) all 700 MB of what you downloaded from <tmp> to the location you selected for installation.
If you need a stand-alone html editor, there are way lighter packages to find on the i-net, like Notepad++ and other even more html-dedicated (and also free) editors, than a full-blown but half-loaded Eclipse install.
(Me, I'm not waiting for the SNAPs to return)
