Hello Scott, Riyad and Michael,

just an other small but probably well-known question:

what will be in 3.8beta2 and when can we expect to lay our dirty little hands on it? :-)

Regards,

Robert

We are doing away with most of the web development tools and really going to start focusing hard on our sound editing and sound sampling framework that we've been working on. Hopefully 2.8/3.8 GA will also include our instrument mappers and full MIDI support to give you the tools you need to really start making some great music.

For anyone that took that seriously, please don't.

Robert,

The only answer I can give you is 'whatever is up to beta quality' when we draw the line in the sand for the beta drop. We're looking at getting beta 2 out in a week from now.

One more thing of note is that the development team has now switched over to using Eclipse 3.0 as the primary dev environment on HEAD, so all 3.x builds will now be delivered before any 2.x builds. This changeover was due to the thunderous download volumes of 3.8 Beta 1, which sent its download volume screaming past 2.8 Beta-1's volume in less than a week, even though 2.8 had a two week head start. We definately see that our user base is moving to 3.0 rapidly, so we are also.

Hah, this is the death of the "Ok 3.0XYZ is out, when is MyEclipse going to support it?!" threads that we loved so much...
