Post subject: "Software and Workspace Center is currently not availab
Support team,

I get the above error when I do "Help -> My->Eclipse Configuration Center". Then it says:

"(Unable to access current snapshot of blueprint; unable to get the blueprint)"

I am running MyEclipse for Spring 10.0 and have been for a while, but this might be the first time I've gone into the config centre.

Please could you advise? (I want to install an Eclipse git plugin.)

I have installed Pulse and wondered about re-installing MyEclipse for Spring, but it doesn't say anything about re-installation and I'm not sure whether I can just install on top of my existing version.

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

Can you answer some more questions for us ?

1. Are you behind a firewall or proxy ? If yes, I would recommend you setup proxy here - window > preferences > general > network connections.

2. Also perform a re-install and run using pulse. Here are the steps -

1. Open Pulse (Start > Programs > Pulse > Pulse Explorer or download the same from www.poweredbypulse.com)
2. Login to pulse, you can also login anonymously
3. Select "Eclipse - Helios" realm from top left hand drop-down
4. Select "MyEclipse for Spring 10" from *My Profiles*, right click on the same and click on [re-install and run]
5. And follow the wizard, when prompted choose to restart the IDE

Let me know how this works for you.

In the Network Connections window, Select *Active Provider*. Add the proxy entries. For e.g if you like to setup socks proxy. Make sure to select the same and click [Edit]. Add the proxy details and turn the Auth to *true*. You need to provide the right user id and password for the proxy.Click [Apply] and [OK].

Also ensure that the following sites are allowed through your proxies -
www.myeclipseide.com , www.poweredbypulse.com , www.genuitec.com.

You can check with your network guys on the details.

There's no proxy involved, so I don't think that what you're saying about the network connections applies?

So trying to re-install with Pulse. If I run it through Pulse the configuration centre loads but sadly none of my projects and files show up down the left, despite the fact that I think I'm picking the right workspace. If I instead launch MyEclipse from the menu, my files and projects are there but the configuration centre still doesn't work.

OK, it was picking up the wrong workspace (they looked similar so I didn't spot). What I've found now is that the config centre works when I launch MyEclipse through Pulse, but not when I launch it from Windows Explorer.

That's strange. It could be that you are launching a different installation from Pulse, than from the Start Menu (or Windows Explorer). Can you try reinstalling using the method you originally installed with? You should be presented with the option to install another copy or to repair the original install. You can choose either.

Note that the latest release of MyEclipse for Spring is 10.1, so it might be worth downloading a fresh installer. Release 10.5 is imminent (within the next couple of weeks).
