| This is caused by a permission problem. Many people on Linux like the idea of having a central install of Eclipse and/or MyEclipse in a location like /usr/local/eclipse. The problem is that the install will be done with one user (root) and then attempted to be run by another user. With the trial version of MyEclipse, you *MUST* install Eclipse and MyEclipse as one single user and only ever run it as that user. For example, if you install Eclipse and MyEclipse as root, you must run it as root. If you install them in your $HOME directory as your local user, then you must run them as your local user. Once you purchase a subscription for MyEclipse, installation/permission requirements are less strict and you can try different setups, but for the trial it is required to keep the installs of all the software and plugins under the same user. |
