    Hi,

as a trainer I package different workspace for every course. Is there any way to store the license at ${user.home} or somewhere?

    Would be great…

    Papick,

What version of MyEclipse are you using? The latest versions of MyEclipse do this very thing you mentioned. The subscription information is stored globally in your user home directory.

I am using MyEclipse for Spring 10 and I have the same issue. How can I configure MyEclipse to save the license globally?

Also, is the global location configurable? Can it be on a network drive?

    greggars,

I’m afraid there isn’t a way to save the license file globally (other than C:/Users directory) for MyEclipse for Spring 10.x. But, there is a technique that works for MyEclipse 2015(latest version) and MyEclipse 2014, and you could also try SDC which is used for internal distribution of MyEclipse.

Can you please send me a private message (pm) with your MyEclipse license details ?

    Greg,

    Thanks for providing the details.

With this license, can we update to the 2014 version?

Yes, you can upgrade to MyEcllipse 2014 and continue using the same license which you have used for previous versions of MyEclipse. MyEclipse licenses are time based, not version based.

I suggest you to try our latest version MyEclipse 2015 CI, which is based on Eclipse Luna. MyEclipse 2015 CI is a unified MyEclipse product with license levels allowing you to access all MyEclipse features. Instead of downloading and installing separate products (MyEclipse Blue, MyEclipse Spring or MyEclipse Bling), the license level you purchase provides you with access to features such as advanced WebSphere and Spring, all from one product. With MyEclipse Continuous Integration Stream (CI), you will have access to new features and important fixes without having to wait for a GA release. MyEclipse CI releases will receive frequent updates as development progresses towards our GA release. You can download MyEclipse 2015 CI from here and give it a try.

Regarding configuring the license, after installing MyEclipse 2015 (or 2014), navigate to <MyEclipse installation dir>/plugins/com.genuitec.myeclipse.product.meXX folder, open plugin_customization.ini file in a notepad, navigate to end of the file, add the following lines (with your Subscriber Id and Code), save the file and restart MyEclipse. After restart, you still need to activate MyEclipse using any of the methods mentioned here.

    #MyEclipse Default License info
    com.genuitec.eclipse.core/LICENSEE=<Enter your Subscriber Id>
    com.genuitec.eclipse.core/LICENSE_KEY=<Enter your Subscription Code>

Let us know how it works for you.
