I just upgraded to 4.1.1 because I wanted to check out the AJAX support and the Web 2.0 browser. I have looked everywhere, but I can't find the Web 2.0 browser. I am on using MyEclipse on RedHat Enterprise 3 WS.

In the Help section on the Web 2.0 browser, I found the following FAQ:

Q2: When will there be a Linux/Mac platform support for Web 2.0 Browser and JavaScript debugger?
A2: Linux support will be added in MyEclipse 4.1.1.

What is the status?

Sorry for missing this post earlier Keith, the AJAX/Web2.0 stuff slipped on linux from 4.1.1 to 5.0 at the last minute due to library/class loader issues that had to be resolved. I was assured it will all be in 5.0, sorry about the delay.

Thanks.

Could your company do a better job of keeping your users better informed on what is and
is not included in each release for the different platforms? I spent over an hour hunting around the MyEclipse Web site to find out if the Web 2.0/AJAX support was included in the Linux version. I never found it. I then turned to the documentation, where it said it was included. This was very frustrating and a huge time waste.

The product information / feature set about MyEclipse on the MyEclipse Website is misleading. It says it has all of these great, advanced features, but it doesn't say that they are absent from the Linux and Macintosh versions.

-- A frustrated MyEclipse / Linux user.

Ps. On a positive note, 4.1.1 is stable and the features that I am using are working :)

This is a time consuming problem for us, we go out of our way to keep the release notes up to date and accurate and even the specific feature pages (e.g. http://www.myeclipseide.com/ContentExpress-display-ceid-8.html) are accurate about platform and version limitations, but the top level feature page should reflect this information as well.

That being said there *are* items that slip through the cracks at the last minute that the documentation team isn't made aware of, I'll try and emphasize the importance of this at our next meeting to management that it's becomming frustrating for our users.
