    Hello,

I installed version 5 of MyEclipse and was trying to see how to create a simple Swing based form.

It’s not clear to me how to do this. I created a Java project, but there’s no “form” option that I can see. Since the “Web Service” project does show up, I’m pretty sure I have 5 installed OK.

So, how do you start a Swing form?

    Thanks very much in advance.

Please have a look at our quick start guide here: http://www.myeclipseide.com/images/tutorials/quickstarts/matisse/

I saw this but it kept referring to MyEclipse 4.1.

“This document was written using Sun Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 5 SDK, Eclipse 3.1.2 and MyEclipse 4.1.1.”

The “Resource Links” at the bottom also refer to old versions of MyEclipse and Eclipse. It says higher in the document you referenced that I’d be able to download Matisse in the Resources section. However, when I click on the Download release notes for Matisse, for exmaple, I get:

“The topic that you have requested is not available. The link may be wrong, or you may not have the corresponding product feature installed. This online help only includes documentation for features that are installed.”

Could you please just tell me how to get/install Matisse4MyEclipse?

    Thanks.

Go to Help > Software Updates > Find and Install, select the 2nd option for “New features”, select the MyEclipse discovery site and hit Next. You can select M4M from there and OK/Finish the wizard then restart.

    OK, thanks.

I guess I thought with all the hype that Matise would be _part_ of MyEclipse 5 (that is, already there). <s>

    Talk with you soon.

When I try to create a new Swing form: “This feature will be part of MyEclipse Professional when the final release is available…….”

I am a professional MyEclipse subscriber.

Not sure why I’m getting this message…

    Mork,
Can you go up to MyEclipse menu, click it, then “Installation Summary” then “Install Details” and post the result here for me?

Also did you restart MyEclipse after installing it from the discovery site?

    Mork,
If you go to MyEclipse menu agani, then click “Update Subscription…”, and then look at the 2nd line under the Subscription Detail, does it say “Professional Subscription”? I wonder if at some point you upgraded and just forgot to use the new subscription code?

I believe if you go to Member Services at the top of the page you can select a payment option of “upgrade” now and just pay the difference. If you were in the grandfather period, you can email subscriptions@genuitec.com and explain your situation and they may cut you a professional license.

I just contacted them. They said that you can ignore the “Standard” as everyone grand-fathered is professional right now…there’s nothing (extra) to pay until my subscription runs out this year.

    I’m waiting to hear back…

    Very confusing…

No word back yet. I did send Subscription Services a copy of the strange screen shot I get when trying to create a Matise form…

Hope to hear something soon (from anybody!) <s>

    Thanks.

Mork I followed up with our subscription department and they said they are working on your request. Let me know if you don’t hear anything back by tommorow (and be sure to check that your email client isn’t marking their email as spam and throwing it away, that has happened a few times)
