Is there any kind of "getting started with AJAX" type of tutorial out there? Something that shows how the highpoints of what makes a web app an AJAX app?

If you were looking for a more "what's the gist of it" response, can you be a bit more specific about what you mean? Are you asking what the value of it is? What the general functionality is like when you "AJAX-i-fy" an app, etc?
