We're evaluating this against IntelliJ for use in web apps development, and I've just started the tutorial.

While it's great that there IS content-assistance browser support, the fact that it is only sensitive to NN and IE is not very helpful. Something to indicate whether it the API is W3C or not would be FAR more helpful. Also, there is no reference to versions, making the the browser support icons pointless. While it might very well run in IE 5.5, it might break in IE 6. This would be helpful, IF fully implemented; is there any plan to do so?

Tyler,
There is a plan to improve this autocomplete information going forward, but no concrete commitment by management for the 5.5 or 6.0 releases at this time.

Hi Tyler,

If you are looking at Eclipse/MyEclipse and you like the environment as a whole, you may want to take a look at the Aptana plugin for the HTML/CSS/Javascript portion of your development needs. They have a very nice plugin (or standalone - whichever you prefer) and does, for one thing, exactly what you are requesting regarding the browser support. Take a look at Aptana at http://www.aptana.com and see what you think. They have a lot of excellent screenshots and vids to show you around the app. Their forums are quite useful as well.

I use it in my environment and can attest that is has been stable and comprehensive for doing standards-based web front-end development. I've been quite happy with the product.

HTH,
-Rod
