The PDT is not compatible with MyEclipse 9.x and 10.0; at the moment, you must use the MyEclipse 10.0.1 milestone release and then follow the instructions below. For more details on the milestone release, please click here. While following the instructions below will allow you to install the PDT into MyEclipse, the PHP editors will not work unless you are using the 10.0.1 release or higher. If you have problems with PHP after following this procedure, please ensure that you have installed all updates for 10.0.1

The tools in the Eclipse IDE PHP (PDT) plug-in may be installed in the same way as other plug-ins. However, for Windows environments, there will be a conflict with the MyEclipse IE Javascript Debugger (IED) plug-in. In this case, the IED plug-in must be first removed before installing the PHP tools.

Bring up the MyEclipse Configuration Centre by clicking on MyEclipse->MyEclipse Configuration Center, then click on the Software tab.

See images below for screenshots of this procedure

For Windows developers

Go to the My Software pane and scroll for the entry, "MyEclipse IE Javascript Debugger". Right click and select Remove.

Then click on the "Apply 1 change" button in the Pending Changes pane (see below, if there are multiple changes in the Software Updates Available pane and you don't want to apply them all).

A wizard will take you through the rest of this change and will ask you to restart MyEclipse to complete the change. When MyEclipse restarts, go to the Configuration Center, Software tab, again.

For all developers

Search for "Eclipse PHP" in the "Browse Software" section, by just typing it in the text box and waiting. Look for the "Eclipse PHP IDE (PDT)" entry, under "Languages", and select it, right click and click "Add to Profile...".

The PDT plug-in will appear in the "Software Updates" pane. If there are pending changes, other than the Eclipse PHP IDE, that you don't want to install just yet, you will need to deselect them, if they are in the "Software Updates" subsection, or remove them from your profile, if they are in the "Managed Changes" subsection. To removed managed changes, go to the MySoftware pane, scroll to the plug-in that you don't want installed, right click it and select "Remove" (similar to the way the IED was removed, above).

Now click the Apply button in the "Pending Changes" pane.

A wizard will take you through the rest of this change and will ask you to restart MyEclipse to complete the change. When MyEclipse restarts, leave the Configuration Center and the PHP tools will be available.
