I just upgraded my Standard to Professional to use the UML functionality in ME 6.0. I’m quite impressed so far with reverse-engineering class diagrams from Java.

One counterpart to this that seems to be missing, though, would be the ability to likewise produce sequence diagrams by reverse-engineering code. Is that something that has been considered at all for upcoming releases?

I would like to ask a further question, how do you select the “method” from the target “class” when creating a “message” interaction in a sequence diagram ?

please let me know if you are scheduling this in the roadmap, the ability to select a method on the target class as the message name.

    deelip ,

I could not replicate the issue with MyEclipse 10.
Are you looking at the context menu of the package or for the java class ?
You have to right click on the java class to get the option to generate sequence diagram.
Attached is the screenshot for your reference.

Let us know if you still see the issue.

Thanks for replay. I am able to get sequence diagram for reverse engineering.

I not got any option which gives export as PDF, I think it has only PNG and JPEG. Is that something that has been considered at all for upcoming releases?

    deelip ,

Glad that you got it working.
Currently we only support PNG and JPEG formats. As of now there is no plan to include PDF in the upcoming releases. I will however escalate this request to the dev team.

Do let us know if you have any other issues.

    KarunaK,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.Releases earlier than MyEclipse 2014 are no longer fully supported. We try and assist licensed users working with earlier releases but no fixes will be made to the earlier releases.

I recommend you move to MyEclipse 2015, our latest release based on Eclipse Luna. MyEclipse 2015 is far more stable than MyEclipse 10.x and comes with several enhancements and fixes.

Please download the latest MyEclipse 2015 Stable 1.0 installer from here :
    https://www.genuitec.com/products/myeclipse/download/

If you are comfortable working with Continuous Integration (CI) stream, then you can install MyEclipse 2015 CI 12. With CI stream you get access to regular feature updates and the latest fixes for MyEclipse.

You can install MyEclipse 2015 to a different location alongside your existing MyEclipse 10.x installation. Your current license is valid for the latest release as well. Our licenses are time based and not version based.

Let us know if you see any issues.

    Hi Swapna,
Thanks for your response, but at this time I will not be able to download new versions of MyEclipse due to company policies. Am using MyEclipse version 10.7.1 by the way. Please let me know if there’s a way I can create a sequence diagram using reverse engineering using this version.

    Thanks,
    Karuna

    Karuna,

Generating a sequence diagram from a java class works fine at my end on MyEclipse 10.7.1.

Can you please switch to a new workspace and check if the issue persists ? If yes then please share with us the .log file which is located at /.metadata/.log along with a sample project which exhibits the issue to help us replicate the issue at our end.

Please email your license details to swapna@genuitec.com along with a reference to this post to help us provide further support.
