Introduction
Welcome to the MyEclipse ICEfaces integration forum. For support-related posts, please see the section below labeled "Support", otherwise keep reading for a quick idea of how to get started using the MyEclipse ICEfaces integration.
Installing
For most people, simply starting MyEclipse will be enough to get prompted to install the MyEclipse ICEfaces integration. However if you have closed the Quick Updater or turned it off, you may have missed the automatic notification of this feature.
You can manually checked for new features by going to the MyEclipse menu and clicking Add Feature...
then MyEclipse will scan for new features that are available, in this case ICEfaces and give you the option to install it:
After the installation has finished, MyEclipse will ask you to restart MyEclipse. Make sure all your work is saved and go ahead and do that.
Getting Started with MyEclipse ICEfaces
After getting MyEclipse ICEfaces installed the best way to get started is to work your way through the MyEclipse ICEfaces Tutorial.
Examples on Demand
Another excellent way to get started with the ICEfaces integration is to install the ICEfacesTutorialExample project from the MyEclipse Examples On-Demand repository.
You can do that by clicking the MyEclipse menu, then clicking Examples On-Demand...:
Clicking the green Install button will automatically install the MyEclipse project directly into your workspace and allow you to immediately get started with ICEfaces.
Be sure to read the README or simply run the MyEclipse Server Application and read the instructions on the first screen to learn more about the project.
Support
All support questions regarding ICEfaces in general or the MyEclipse ICEfaces integration should be directed to the ICEfaces Support Forums. |

| When I try to install ICEFaces I do not see the ICEFaces as a Selection on the Download page. I know ICEFaces is not currently integrated cause the selection to Add ICEFaces Capabilities is never selectable. |

| pegasus, just to be clear you can only install ICEFaces by using the MyEclipse > Add Features menu, or by using Pulse and creating a MyEclipse profile with ICEFaces added to it. You cannot download it from our download page. |

| I understand this. I'm saying I click MyEclipse-->Add Additional Features and the MyEclipse Quick Install Window pops up. The only selection that shows up is the Matisse4MyEclipse Swing UI Designer checkbox. |

If you go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details, can you post that information here for me?
Also if you go to Window > Prefs > MyEclipse > Project Capabilities, is there an ICEfaces sub-node? |

Looking Under Preferences--->Project Capabilities-->ICEfaces
Looing to the right drop-down entitled Library modules, I see ICEFaces 1.6.1(JSF 1.1).
I look below the drop-down in the right side window with a tab named Libraries and this window contains no libraries. |

| Hmm... hit the Restore Defaults button, it should restore all the default library config settings. See if that does the trick. |

Confirm this. I have the same problem.
No jars there, so I can't add ICEfaces capabilities to my project.
I'll download ver6.0.2 later today and see if it helps. |

It doesn't work. I click Restore Defaults and nothing happens. |

_Marco_,
I think something squirrely is going on with your install. Can you try grabbing the Pulse-optimized download of MyEclipse from our download page (for the OS you are on), let it fire up, then reopen your existing workspace?
Pulse will completely manage any and all plugins, dependencies, upgrades, etc. Sorry for the extra leg work, but if -clean and Restore Defaults didn't do it, I think it's an install issue/plugin-conflict...in which case Pulse will give us a best-case setup to work with. |
