1.) The new XML, Text, and HTML editors are great but very slow starting up. Any way to improve their performance. Even when the IDE is up, they startup slow. I use Ultra Edit a lot but would like to move over to one editor. Some features that I would like to see are;
Macros, Quick Record and Editable.
Upper case and Lower case functions.
Spell Checking.
Improved File browsers
And Projects (Allow the abilities to define a directory/directories and a project)
Project level search and replace.

Try adding these arguments to the eclipse.ini file and check if it improves the performance.
-vmargs -Xms128M -Xmx512M -XX:PermSize=64M -XX:MaxPermSize=128MI’ll note the other feature requests down.
