Hi,
I've found this while I was locating some JAR archives in the Eclipse plugins directories. First the history of my current setup: 1. I had installed MyEclipse 6.0.0 in a freshly installed Eclipse 3.3;
2. then came the 6.0.0 security hotfix (20070824);
3. then I upgraded to 6.0.1.
Today I've seen that some Genuitec plugin directories were available twice: 6.0.0 and 6.0.1. Obviously the 6.0.1 update deactivated the 6.0.0 MyEclipse (which I uninstalled later), but has left over the active 6.0.0 hotfix, and this had slipped somehow my attention. Now I have deactivated the hotfix in the Eclipse Configuration Manager, uninstalled it, and the 6.0.0 plugin directories are gone.
I can't estimate what side effects the 'forgotten' hotfix has, but might it be related to the Update Progress / Failed to execute runnable (java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Argument cannot be null) issue? Until today that error happened on my machine ~ 1-4 times a week (at the beginning much more often), I will report if the situation improves.
Regards,
Victor |

Victor,
Nice job digging deep... I suppose this is entirely possible. With the 6.0.1 release being the current release hopefully new users shouldn't be effected by this anymore, but for troubleshooting older setups this is a data point we didn't have previously.
Please let us know how it behaves now that the hotfix is axed. |
