Post subject: ICEfaces 1.7.1 - What´s happen?

Guys,
When i add ICEfaces Capabalities in my Web Project (I´m using ICEfaces 1.7.1), MyEclipse show me a message:
"ICEfaces 1..6.x supports JSF by using JSF 1.1 capabality mode. As a result, the faces-config file must be changed to JSF version 1.1 and web-xml must be converted to 2.4 to be compatible with ICEfaces. Do want to continue?"
Is this message also valid to ICEfaces 1.7.x?

Marques,
We actually work with the ICEfaces teams directly on their integration work in MyEclipse, I haven't heard otherwise if it's still valid or not so I would suggest that you could probably back your project up, and try and back out those changes from the web.xml file and see if your project still runs fine, then you can ignore the warning and I'll make a note back to the integration team to re-evaluate that. |

I had an issue with this also:

I could not get EJB injection to work no matter what I did after adding ICEFaces capabilities. After some help on the ICEFaces forum, the problem was simple: put web.xml back at 2.5. EJB injection started working again. I also put faces-config.xml back at 1.2 as well. The project ran and deployed with no problems.
It seems that downgrading the versions is no longer necessary with ICEFaces 1.7.1. The problem also is that when you answer No to changing the version of web.xml and faces-config.xml, it does not set up the ICEFaces settings.
We need a quick patch to disable the downgrading of these files.

Very detailed followup, thank you for providing that. I'm gonna ping the dev team and see if we can get this into MyEclipse 7.0 (may not make the 7.0M1 cut, but hopefully GA). |
