My local index is no longer being updated each time I run I see one or more messages that look like:
Error on adding indexing context local; Cannot overwrite: C:\Tools\workspace7\.metadata\.plugins\org.maven.ide.eclipse\nexus\local\_1.cfs

I have cleared local and allowed it to be recreated always the same problem.

Thanks in advance for your help on this

What you’ll want to do is drill down to Window > Prefs > MyEclipse > Maven4MyEclipse > Maven, and check the “Download repository index on startup” checkbox (see screenshot).

Then shut down MyEclipse and erase the C:\Tools\workspace7\.metadata\.plugins\org.maven.ide.eclipse\nexus\local directory, then fire MyEclipse back up — you should see the index download startup immediately after startup.

    Riyad,

Thank you for the response. I am and have been configured that way. There is an attempt made to rebuild the index on startup that fails with the error above. And I have deleted the local drectory.

I am still having the same problem, very frustrating… Is it possible there is another configuration option missing?

    mfkilgore,

After the index fails, can you right-click on your project go to Maven4MyEclipse > Add Dependency and then type in a filter of “log” and see if the list updates with anything?

I’ve seen the index update fail when write permissions weren’t allowed or when an existing read-lock was on the file, but it usually self corrected with the next restart… I’ve not ever seen it fail time after time after time
