Hi
I am trying to use the UML tools in MyEclipse 7.0 on windows. IN one workspace, things are all OK. IN the other, the views are corrupt. The diagram displays are black. Icons unreadable, drop downs empty of any visible text.
I read about changes that could be made to the way that eclipse is started but this isn't the issue here because eclipse and the launching JVM is the same.
The main difference between the workareas is that the one that works has an installed JRE which is 5 and the one that doesn't is at 6.
Any ideas ?

Chris,
Can you change the JRE 6 to 5 in the workarea where you are facing this issue and let me know if that rectifies this issue? Sounds like some incompatibility issue.
I'll ask the dev team to look into this when you get back to me with the information.
Thanks. |

HI
Yes - I changed the JVM back to the SUN JRE 1.5 (one shipped with Genuitec components) and it works again in the same workspace.
I'd really like this looked at. My normal workspace is Java 6 and it is a big pain to have to either switch workspaces or rebuild the workspace to do any UML modelling.

Chris,
I have filed a PR for the dev team and asked them to look into this. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

For a professional 7,1 license, how does one even create a UML project? The MyEclipse 6.0 tutorial is different from what I'm seeing in 7.1.
I just upgraded to MyEclipse Professional so I can do UML stuff. Choosing to create a new UML 2 model to create a UMR always comes up with "The specified project does not exist" error message in the field where it asks to "Enter or select the parent folder - where the hell would a parent folder be when I'm trying to create a new UML project???? Something not right with the way I'm trying to do this - please explain or providfe a link for MyEclipse 7.0 UML project creation.
Is it saying I must first start out with a project? What type of porject???? I'm completely lost here, as I'm trying to start out modeling a brand new peoject with UML and then allow MyEclipse to help nme build the project components.
Is this a chicken and egg conundrum?
Also, why the heck don't I see the UML tab right after the MyEclipse tab at the top (like the tutorials show?). Keeop in midn I don't have an option to create a UMR with 7.1

You select a project then click the brown or blue "box" icon that appears in the toolbar. The UML2 tooling can't do forward/reverse engineering at this time. |
