    Each time I start MEB, it tries to “look for updates” which takes about 5 minutes… I need to restart MEB fairly regularly so it is wasting my time by continuely looking for updates.

    Is there a way to turn off that “feature”?

    bick,

    You need to turn off show MyEclipse Dashboard on Startup. To do this click on Help > Manage MyEclipse Plugins. This will open MyEclipse Dashboard – uncheck “Show MyEclipse Dashboard on Startup”.
