I downloaded the Windows installer for MyEclipse(EnterpriseWorkbenchInstaller_030800Beta1.exe)
I am running Windows XP.
The installation gets through the initial progress bar and dies. I have done this on a clean reboot with the same result.
I tried the Installer for 3.0M7 and it did exactlly the same thing.
This is odd indeed… we do provide a Manual Install which is perfect for these situations when the installer dies. Its a 2-step process (VERY detailed instructions included in the download):
1) Unzip the zip file into a dir of your choice, e.g. C:\MyEclipse-3.8b1
2) Create a links file in your Eclipse install dir \links folder to tell Eclipse where to load MyEclipse fromWalla, that’s it.
Walla, that’s it.
Of course the manual install download contains a nice html walkthrough with lots of pictures to make it really quite foolproof (or fool-resistant, anyway 😉
