Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.

rolandchc85,
Can you try pulse for a quick fix?
The following are the steps
1. Open pulse explorer and log in anonymously.
2. From the drop down select "Eclipse 3.5 - Galileo".
3. Right click on your profile and select "Re-install and Run".
Pulse will resolve any dependency conflicts.

Let me know if that helps.

I am having the same problem. I've tried with both 8.0 and the 8.5 M1 release. if I try and reinstall with pulse I get the same error and then myeclipse is no longer able to run. I have to delete it and then re-install it wth pulse (very annoying). Any other suggestions?

thanks!

jcristini,

Can you answer few queries for me to get to the root cause?
1. Can you share the web-link for PDT plugin?
2. Have you verified if the said plugin is compatible to Eclipse 3.5.1?
3. Can you copy and paste your installation details? Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.

Hi,

I think this problem is caused by DLTK. When I install dltk, I also have the same problem. And what's more when I click 'Re-install and Run' in pulse. I cannot launch myEclipse anymore. So I cannot send you Installation Details. I am using myeclipse 8.0.

Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: MyEclipse 8.0 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000017 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-526776-rmb-339259 2.0.0.0000000017)

jiuding,

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. How did you add DLTK to ME 8.0? Can you share the weblink?
If you have isolated this issue to DLTK, I would recommend you do the following.
1. From pulse, select the "MyEclipse 8.0 profile"
2. Choose the software tab. Look for the said plugin under "My Software" > Personal Software
3. Right click on the same and click on [remove]
4. Click on [install and run]
This will ensure you have a working copy of MyEclipse. Let me know how this works for you.
Best.

Hi support-joy,

I am getting the same freeze "wolski" is getting. I'm also not sure how I find the "web-link" for the add-on since its all done through pulse.
Here is what I have tried today with errors:
- install a fresh copy of myeclipse 8.0 from pulse
- From within pulse, click on the newly installed 8.0 profile in the "My Profiles" section
- Then Click on the "Software" tab in the center panel
- type "pdt" in the search input field, just under "Browse Software"
- right click on "Eclipse PHP IDE (PDT)" and choose "add to profile". The add-on will appear in the "My Software" panel. The version to the right of it says "3.5.1"
- now under the pending changes section click the "Apply 1 change" button
- The installation of the add-on will begin and then about 65% of the way it appears to hang for about 10 minutes with "Finalizing software requirements...
- it then comes back with:

Software being installed: MyEclipse 8.0 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000002 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-336255-rmb-442160 2.0.0.0000000002)

BTW: after the above was performed I just did a "Reinstall and Run" and it immediately came back with a "NullPointer Exception" and the profile in pulse disappeared. Something is definitely not happy.

jcristini,

Thank you for the steps to install PDT. I have verified that adding PDT plugin causes dependency issues.
I'm sorry, MyEclipse currently doesn't provide an intrinsic support for PDT plugin.
Can you please remove the plugin from your MyEcliopse profile. I am sorry I cannot offer you any alternate solution at this point of time. I will escalate this to the dev team members to investigate further.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

This problem is caused in 8.0GA because we introduced the IE Debugger which does have different dependencies on DLTK. Could you try the following:

1) Start MyEclipse 8, go to Help > Manage MyEclipse Plug-Ins
2) The dashboard should show up in a few seconds, you can now scroll through the list and look for the IE Debugger - click Uninstall.
3) Restart, verify that IE debugger has been uninstalled.
4) Try to install PDT now.
You can perform similar steps in 8.5M1 as well, use the dashboard tab from Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused; please let me know if these steps work so we can make suitable corrections in the next release if required.
