Hello!
Ive recently installed ME 8.0 and now I see a strange DummyCommand object appearing in the leftmost pane of the ME IDE window. Its location pushes my content in the IDE a bit more to right. It doesnt matter if Im changing the perspectives, the DummyCommand remains. when removing the google plugin it disappears.
I have installed the google plugin (and SDK and GWT) manually from this site adress:
http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.5
I have tried to install the plugin from both pulse explorer and plain add/remove software in MyEclipse. Both fail on install for the google plugin.
When the google plugin announced in its log file that a newer version of the sdk where available i ran check for updates in MyEclipse and a dialog started saying "do you want to upgrade google SDK". I said yes and the upgrading process started and finished. When running MyEclipse after the upgrade of the plugin the DummyCommand appeared.
This is no big issue since i managed to remove the DummyCommand by reinstalling the google plugin.
What im wondering is if there are certain considerations when using the google plugin with MyEclipse 8.0 (and eclipse 3.5)?
With Kind Regards

MyEclipse8.0 is based on Eclipse 3.5.1. Google plugin for eclipse 3.5 installs fine with ME8.0 and there are no reported issues so far. |

I've the same problem using 8.5M1. It worked a while ago, until I reinstalled the profile to make PDT work by being forced to kick out the proudly presented IE Javascript debugger as posted by the staff over here: http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-printview-t-25010-start-0.html. MyEclipse always had issues with playing nice with others. Non-intentional, but nonetheless the reality that all the users have to face, every time, again. It's getting better, but still far from perfect. Sigh, it can't be helped yet.
No reports doesn't mean there is no problem. I confirm from my side, there is a problem.
To be precise, in my case it prompts a dependency error when validating Google Plugin in the configuration. The configuration runs fine, once the plugin is removed from it. |

b4l4nc3r,
I could not replicate this at my end. I could add the google plugin after removing IE javascript debugger and installing PDT.
Can you clarify if you have added the update site for google plugin as given in the following link -
http://code.google.com/eclipse/docs/getting_started.html
The following are the steps:
1. Go to Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center
2. Click "Add Site" on software tab and enter the update site URL
3. Expand "plugin" and "sdk" select individual items and from the context menu select "Add to profile"
4. Now, click on "Apply Changes"
I have attached some screen shots for your reference |

The Google Plugin I added from the Pulse Catalog was incomplete. It misses the SDK's. The update site display them in separate entries. It's weird though, I'm sure it worked straight from the catalog before. Anyway, I'm happy again for being able to move on : ) |
