The "Add/Remove Software" dialog just sits there around 90% complete saying "Resolving and validating the profile...".
I am trying to install Subclipse 1.6.x. |

Stephen,
Are you behind a proxy?
Can you set up your proxy details from the MyEclipse IDE menu option - Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections and try to install Subclipse?
Let me know if that helps. |

I verified with our network engineer that there is no proxy or outbound filtering.
Could it be anything else? |

Also, I tried removing Subclipse from the list of things to install. All of the remaining packages said "Installed", so it shouldn't need to install anything, right? I clicked on "Apply", and MyEclipse got stuck at the same message. This leads me to believe that the problem has nothing to do with Subclipse specifically. |

Stephen,
How are you installing Subclipse? Are you using any update site? Can you share the link with us? |

I noticed that MyEclipse 8.0 was trying to install 8.5. So, I uninstalled MyEclipse 8.0 and delete the C:\Program Files\Genuitek folder. I reinstalled 8.0 and ran the Add / Update Wizard, and it upgraded me to MyEclipse 8.5 with no problem. Then I selected Subclipse 1.6 from the Update Management Console, and it installed without a problem as well.
This issue is resolved as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for your help. |
