Is it possible to have two tomcat 4 settings. I have two projects I would like one to point to one tomcat configuration and I need the second to point to a seperate tomcat 4 configuration.

    In the /Window/Prefrences/MyEclipse/Application Servers/

It lists a Tomcat 4 with one set of configuration settings.

Is there a way to add another Tomcat 4 Settings?

Is there any way to point different projects to different server.xml files?

Let me check, in the past this feature hasn’t been ask for more than once or twice, but recently I’ve seen it requested a few times. I will get the official position on this.

    Not currently

We’ll be looking at enhancing server launch model in the next couple of releases. It’s just one of the things we put off since we had to make sure to stay compatible with both Eclipse 2.1 and 3.x. In the next few months we’ll be transitioning toward enhancing only our Eclipse 3.0-based products which will free up development resources to work on items such as this.

Great!! I really am impressed with the product so far. That feature is the only thing I really need to be able to get other developers at my company to move from Jbuilder to a Eclipse / My Eclipse environment.

You know, you can effectively get what you want now just by changing one entry on the preference page for the Tomcat connector. 🙂

true unfortunatly not enough to suit the situation were you need two applications that need to be running at the same time.

You can run as many applications as you want on the configured server, but you’re correct that running multiple applications, at the same time, on completely different servers, that are running on different ports, simultaneously is not supported.

Just out of curiousity, can you outline what you’re doing that requires this kind of config? It will help prioritize the enhancement for us.
