The first milestone (M1) release of MyEclipse for Spring 8.6 is now available! This major release of MyEclipse for Spring includes:
– New options for application scaffolding. Generate Spring MVC, Adobe Flex, Spring Web Flow, and iPhone applications in minutes. Support for Google Web Toolkit (GWT) scaffolding will be included in the GA release later this month.
– New Code Assistant capabilities that facilitate the annotation-based development of Spring and JAX-WS artifacts
– Over 200 bug fixes and enhancementsAs a reminder, MyEclipse for Spring includes all the features in MyEclipse Professional. And, existing MyEclipse for Spring 8.5 subscriptions are eligible to receive the 8.6 release at no additional cost.

The production release of MyEclipse for Spring 8.6 is currently targeted for late July.
The second milestone (M2) release of MyEclipse for Spring 8.6 is now available! One of the major new features is support for GWT scaffolding.
You can download 8.6 M2 from here.
8.6 M1 users can upgrade to 8.6 M2 by using the Software and Workspace Center (Help–>Sofware and Workspace Center).
I’ve already installed 8.5.
Now, I’m considering 8.6 M2. I’m wondering if that will work well OR if I need to uninstall v 8.5 before installing 8.6 M2 ?

You can run both side-by-side. There’s no need to uninstall 8.5.

I am using MacBook Pro Snow Leopard. I downloaded and installed 8.6m2. In “Configuration” it shows, “-launcher

Yet, when I make a web project and right click on it, the menu options do not match what is shown in the YouTube video “Scaffolding Spring MVC, FLEX, GWT, Spring Web Flow”. There is no “Google” option in the menu the way there is in the video.
In the video the menu shows: “Profile as”, “MyEclipse”, “Team”, “Compare with”, “Restore from Local History”, “Google”, “Add Change Project Type”.
But in my menu I see instead: “Profile As”, “Team”, “Compare With”, “Restore from Local History”, “MyEclipse”, “Spring Code Generation”, “Configure”.
What am I doing wrong that I don’t see “Google” in the menu?
Also, when I follow your directions and do “Help” I do not see on the Mac an option for “Software and Workspace Center”.
I am beginning to feel foolish as it dawns on me that perhaps the Mac version does not yet have Google support but the Windows version does?@RobertGloverJr wrote:

Am making some headway here. Selected “Scaffold Spring CRUD Application” and came across a “Select Web Client Type” panel that has checkboxes for Spring MVC, Spring WebFlow, Flex, Google Web Tool Kit, and iPhone. I checked all of them okay except that when GWT is clicked it says,
This Project does not have the GWT Nature applied. …snip… If you do no have the GWT Tooling you can install it using the Configuration Manager, then open the Google properties on the Project and set this project to be a GWT project and set the war directory to be the web root of this project
In looking at the MyEclipse Configuration Center, I don’t see anyplace obvious where I would go to install GWT Tooling. I notice that in Software Updates Available it says there are updates for “MyEclipse for Spring 8.6.0” and “Pulse Services and Extensions 3.0.3”. When I search in Browse Sofware for “gwt” it shows “Google Plugin for Eclipse”.

I went ahead and told it to, but this message appeared:
Google Plugin for Eclipse is already a part of personal software for MyEclipse for Spring 8.6 (Milestone Stream)
I then found it in personal software and double clicked on it. It said:
Latest: 2.0.4.v201006301254. Installed: Not Installed ...snip...In the personal software listing it showed as version 1.6.13.
Not sure what to do next. It seems to be installed, but it’s not the latest version. There must be some way to activate it for my project. I don’t see the option to do that however.@RobertGloverJr wrote:

I found a July 08 post that seemed to contain the possible answer:
The problem was caused by a new release of GWT that changed the plugin identifiers. An update to identifiers (rather than versions) is unusual and as a result, we needed to update the software catalog to compensate for the change.
If you restart MyEclipse and either re-add the “Google Plugin for Eclipse” from the software catalog or re-apply your update you should find that it works properly once again
I reinstalled the Google Plugin for Eclipse. This upated it to version 2.0.4.
That apparently solved the problem.

So far, I’m very pleased with MyEclipse for Spring. To get this far after only 8 hours is astounding compared to how long it would have taken with any other IDE.Thanks for the details and solutions, Robert.
