My company is currently standardized on NetBeans – which is driving me crazy. (hangs, bugs, etc…) I’d REALLY rather use Eclipse, but we make heavy use of NetBeans Matisse.
So, is it possible to open a NetBeans Matisse .form and .java file with MyEclipse Matisse – and have it work? And save something that NetBeans matisse can still use?

    CasaDelGato,

MyEclipse doesn’t support a direct import of NetBeans Matisse project. I can recommend you do the following – create MyEclipse equivalent project and copy the resource files from your NetBeans Matisse application and give it a shot.

By “resource files”, do you mean the .java, .form, and .properties files?

    CasaDelGato, ,

By resource files I meant all the relevant files such as .java, .form, .properties etc

Okay, I’ve done a few experiments, and MyEclipse Matisse isn’t usefully compatible with NetBeans Matisse.
The NB version generates code using @Action’s for use with the Swing Application Framework, and MyEclipse doesn’t have this option. So it’s pretty much impossible to share a project between the 2 systems.

    CasaDelGato,

I am afraid, MyEclipse doesn’t support direct import of NetBeans matisse project. Yes, you cannot share a project from NetBeans to MyEclipse directly. You need to create a MyEclipse Matisse project. Please go through this weblink – http://www.myeclipseide.com/documentation/quickstarts/m4m/ – Matisse4MyEclipse tutorial.
