So how does one get started??
There is no 'Add ICEfaces capabilities' after I have added JSF capabilities - has this process changed? Do I need to add the ICEfaces 2 libraries manually? Do I need to install the ICEfaces 2 MyEclipse plugin? (if I can still get it!!)
A few pointers to get me started would be helpful, for MyEclipse 10 and ICEfaces 2 - most of the tutorials relate to different versions?
Thanks

Chris,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue.
Can you answer some more questions for us ?
1) Can you please copy paste the installation details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ?
2) ICEFaces 2 is available for JSF 2.0 projects. After adding the JSF capabilities, do you see the option "Add ICEFaces Capabilities" enabled? Please elaborate on the issue and attach a screenshot for us to help get a visual.
3) Can you recheck if the option "ICEFaces Support for MyEclipse" is enabled in the Dashboard section of MyEclipse Configuration Center ?
4) Once you add JSF capablities from project > MyEclipse > Add JSF Capabilities, you will see the option "Add ICEFaces Capabilities" option enabled.
Here is the tutorial for ICEFaces. The tutorials are based on earlier versions of MyEclipse. The screenshots in the tutorial might differ slightly. :

Attached is the screenshot for your reference.
Let us know how it works for you. |

I did not have the ICEfaces support enabled in the dashboard - this has given me the option to add ICEfaces capabilities, and I now have all the ICEfaces libraries for 2.0.2, thank you
I then created an XHTML file with the 'ICEfaces 2 Facelets Page' template and the page gets added but I cannot edit it (blank editor window) The file is there, if I open it with the 'MyEclipse Visual XHTML Designer' it is fine but no pallette of controls that I presume are present with the JSF Editor?
I attach my installation and config details as requested?
As an aside, do you know when/if you will be supporting ICEfaces 3.0?
Thanks

Chris,
1) Can you start the IDE with -clean args, switch to a new workspace, create an xhtml page and check if the issue persists ? Here is the FAQ for -clean : http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-10280.html
2) Can you send us a screenshot of the IDE when you open the xhtml page using "MyEclipse Visual JSF Designer" for us to help get a visual ?
3) When you try to open the xhtml page using "MyEclipse Visual XHTML Designer", you see no palette at all ? or Do you see lesser number of controls on the palette when compared with the controls in the Palette of JSF Editor? If you are not seeing the Palette, then you will have to click on the "Palette" box to open it.
Attached is the screenshot for your reference. |

Ok, I have started with the '-clean' flag as suggested, no difference.
I attach a screen shot - as you can see, there are 2 entries for 'MyEclipse Visual JSF Designer' and neither of them work?
The second capture shows what I get - not sure you mean my 'Clicking the palette buton' - where is that? Previously the controls would be there, as you can see there are none at all?
Regards

Chris,
Thank you for the details. I could not replicate the issue at my end.
Can you please send us the xhtml you are working with to help us replicate the issue at our end ?
Please clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log , now try to open the XHTML with "MyEclipse Visual JSF Designer" and attach the .log file for us. |
