I have a problem since upgrading to MyEclipse IDE 10. If I do a File Search then if a result is within a JSP instead of the correct matching text being marked the editor marks another, slightly earlier, position in the file. If I do a search and replace then it is this earlier – wrong – text that is replaced instead of the matching text.

I am set up for JSPs to use the MyEclipse JSP Editor for .jsp files (NOT the JSP Visual Designer). This bug happens every time.

    Installation details are below:

    steveh ,

Thanks for pointing to it.I could replicate the issue at my end. I have filed a PR for the dev team to work on it.
Let us know if you have any other issues.

I’ve just upgraded to 10.5 and this bug is still present when searching JSPs and HTML files. Any idea when it might be fixed or if a workaround is known?

    steveh,

Sorry that we missed this out. We had several priority issues to be worked for 10.5.
I will check with the dev team on this one and get back to you.

    Sorry for inconvenience.

    steveh,

The dev team is investigating this issue for the next release. Unfortunately, there is no workaround for now. We will post the workaround if the team comes up with one.

    Sorry for inconvenience.

    Steve,

While we have reproduced some variations of this problem; we’re having a hard time reproducing this consistently. Since you seem to have 100% reproduction rate, I’d like to ask you some questions:

    1) Are you able to reproduce this issue right off the bat when you start MyEclipse? If you start MyEclipse and then do a search in a project, do you immediately see the wrong locations highlighted? Or do you need to run a deploy or save the file, open in an editor, etc.? Any steps that will help us reproduce the problem consistently?

    2) If yes to the above, can you create a new dummy web project and create an HTML file it in it. Try to reproduce this problem by searching for some text in this file. Can you reproduce it here too or is it specific to your project?

    Thanks.

    Steve,

This issue was tracked and fixed in the 10.6 release which is available now. 10.6 can be installed via a small update from the MyEclipse Configuration Center or you could download a new installer instead. If you still experience the same problem with 10.6, please let us know.

Thank you for reporting the problem.
