    Hi

I have just install my MyEclipse Blue Edition 10.1 and I have been trying to do some software updates and I keep getting authentication dialogs. I have looked around the FAQs and Forums without success.

I tried to generated the log file as indicated by one of the forums but could not get this to work or find the directory where the log was suppose to be generated to.

    Please assist.

    barryCambridge,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

Can you give us some more information?

    1. Can you please copy paste the Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ?

    2. Clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log. Now replicate the issue and copy paste the contents of the .log file for us to investigate further.

    3. What kind of software updates are you trying to do ? Please elaborate with details.

    4. Also attach a screenshot of the MyEclipse Configuration Center with the dialogs to help us get a visual of the problem. Here is an FAQ on how to upload attachments to the post : https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/troubleshooting-how-to-upload-attachments-on-forum/

I would be happy to provide details. Two files have been attached. Install summary, the and a snap of what it looks like. I will add another reply with the log as I am not being successful in adding the log file to this reply.

As to the specifics, this problem occurs as soon as I open the MyEclipse Configuration Center via MyEclipse>MyEclipse Configuration Center. A screen shot has been provided. At this point, I am not trying to update anything as I am just opening the Center.

I did initialy try to install the Log4E which is displayed under software updates available.

    Attached is the .log file.

This upload was a little confusing as *.log don’t seem to supported for upload.

    barryCambridge,

    Thank you for the files.

    1. Can you please clarify if you have setup proxy information here –
From menu options click on Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections?. Please check for the proxy settings.

    2. Did you see this issue, the very first time you went into ME Configuration Center before trying to perform any software updates or only after you tried to install Log4E?

    Hi

My understanding is that we do not have a proxy and our connection is direct. For instance our Internet Explorer has no proxy settings. I have engaged our helpdesk folks here to help understand our setting but I have not received any feeback yet.

Yes this issue was occurring prior to the Log4E request.

    barryCambridge,

A look at the Tips and Tricks and In the News sections of the MyEclipse Configuration Center, shows clearly that there is an issue with accessing internet at that point.

Can you please confirm that you can access internet from your browser ? Also check if you can access the sites : http://www.myeclipseide.com , http://www.poweredbypulse.com , http://www.genuitec.com
