    Miguel,

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Can you answer below queries –
    1. How did you install MyEclipseForSpring? Meaning using – all-in-one installer / pulse / update site on top of eclipse classic?
    2. Did you receive this issue after installation?
    3. Can you try to open MyEclipseForSpring using a new workspace? Does that work?
    4. Please attach your .log file located at [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.log
    5. Attach a screenshot to help me get a visual.

I would recommend you repair your MyEclipseForSpring profile. To do this, double click on the installer file. This would list you 4 different options. You could choose to repair your MyEclipseForSpring profile or create a new copy of MyEclipseForSpring. Follow the wizard till completion.

Let me know how this works for you.

    My O.S. is Window 7 Ultimate 32/64
Hardware 16 Gig RAM and 8 core

    1. I reinstalled the last version on my laptoop.
Unstalled the old and the installed the MyEclipseForSpring using all-in-one Installer.

    2. When I start the new installation I get the issue:
    ******************************************************************
Open the Welcome Page has encounter a problem
    An internal error has ocurred
    An internal error has occurred.
    java.lang.StackOverflowError
    ******************************************************************
And then the MyEclipseForSpring close and don’t let me work on the Workspace.

    3. I created a new Workspace on C:\MyEclipseSpringIDE10-1\Workspaces and it is all the same.

    4. I run the installed again to try to repair but it go on the same and it doesn’t work, it is like on pto.2

    5. I attach the Log of [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.log

I have not could used Myeclipseide on Window 7 16 Gig with 32bit Installation.
This bugs should be detected during the QA stage of the product…
What is the value of be paying for a anual subscription instead of beeing using Eclipse open source directly…

I need a response and close this issue as soon as possible!!!

I called to Genuitec today with no response..

    Miguel,

I’m sorry you are experiencing these issues off the bat with MyEclipse for Spring. Quite obviously, these are issues that we are neither able to replicate nor have we seen them before as we’d be unable to release the product in a state where it isn’t working almost immediately after the launch.

Could you please confirm what technique you have used to switch to a new workspace? Do you use the File > Switch Workspace action?

There seems to be some issue on your specific system configuration and the Welcome or Intro pages (we did receive your stack trace, it helped). While my team will look into this, I just wanted to confirm if you have tried simply closing the welcome page or switching to the workspace? This should prevent this page from loading the next time you start MyEclipse for Spring with the same workspace and should at least temporarily resolve your problem. If you are unable to do this, could you please attach a screenshot of your workbench when you experience the error?

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

I installed the product on this directory:
    C:\MyEclipseSpringIDE10-1\

And created the Directory Workspace here:
    C:\MyEclipseSpringIDE10-1\Workspaces

When the MyEclipseSpring 10.1 start, it aim to
    this Workspace directory:
    C:\MyEclipseSpringIDE10-1\Workspaces

    and show the error

I attach the information on Word + last log.

Definitively today I can not work in the product environment. It close on my laptoop.

I am working on NetIDE 7.0 version Free version…with no problem…!!

Why I am payed for a Eclipse commercial version with no solution, yet…

This bugs should have been detected during the QA stage of the product before the new release version….

    miguel,

Sorry for the delay in responding but we’ve been trying to replicate the problem or figure out what might be causing it. Unfortunately, we haven’t managed to do either. We conclude that there is something about your particular set-up that is causing the problem. We have a couple of suggestions.

    1. As a repair install didn’t help, can you try a complete reinstall? Just delete everything below C:\MyEclipseSpringIDE10-1, apart from any workspaces that you want to keep, and then re-run the installer.
    2. As a workaround for this particular installation and workspace, go to the .metadata\.plugins folder in your workspace (or create it if it doesn’t exist). Create a new folder here, if it doesn’t already exist, named com.skyway.myeclipseforspring and then create an empty text file there named init-overview.txt which should stop the overview panel being created and so not go through the code that is looping.

Of course, if your problem exists in any new workspace, this would only be a workaround and not a complete solution.

Please let us know if either of these suggestions work for you.

    I reinstalled on
    C:\MyEclipseforSpring10_1_IDE\

And Changed the Workspaces to :

    C:\MyEclipseforSpring10_1_IDE\Workspaces

I created an empty text file there named init-overview.txt

    .metadata\.plugins\com.skyway.myeclipseforspring\
    init-overview.txt

I am able to work on the product using the Workspaces now.

But I am not able to open the Browser from the Workspaces
on a Web project Example after have deployed it on Catalina..

    I got the same error:
    ******************************************************************
Open the Welcome Page has encounter a problem
    An internal error has ocurred
    An internal error has occurred.
    java.lang.StackOverflowError
    ******************************************************************

    and the Complete product close…

The point if I reopen it I lose the control over Catalina.
I can not stop and restart it again.

How can I stop the Catalina from outside the MyEclipseforSpring10.1 Workspace ?
I could not find it on Service Window Environment Console..

I can work now but I feel the MyEclipseforSpring10.1 Workspace much Unstable now…

You must certifiy the product release to work on
Window 7 Ultimate Environment 32/64 with 16 RAM memory.

    Miguel,

I’m glad you can at least get the workspace running. You can add that init-overview.txt file to any workspace that is showing this problem.

I am still unable to replicate the problem on Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit. (There should be no difference with Windows 7 Ultimate).

MyEclipse 10.5 was released a few days ago. The Spring edition should be available soon (it usually takes two to three weeks for the Spring edition to appear following the base release). As you are able to work now, can you wait for MyEclipse for Spring 10.5 to be released to see if that fixes your problem?
