I am new to Java and to myeclipse so hopefully I won't embarrass myself. I am trying to connect to MSSQL Server using the Microsoft provided JDBC driver.

The connection string I am using works in an Eclipse environment. The driver template (Other MSSQL 2008 is not available from myeclipse.

With myeclipse, I either get an error that the driver is not supported for integrated logon, or when I remove the integrated logon criteria from the connection string the message is that logon fails for the administrative user id.

I have placed the dll files is the appropriate location (I think) although I repeat that it works in eclipse.

Can you answer some more questions for us ?

1. Can you please copy paste the Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ?

2. Can you let us know on which version of Eclipse is the connection string working ?

3. Please give us details about the version of MSSQL Server you are working with and the connection string you are using.

4. Can you please check if you can configure and connect to the said database from the MyEclipse Database explorer ? Here is the tutorial to configure the DB :

jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=intersect;integratedSecurity=true;

I am using SQL Server 2012 which is reverse compatible with SQL 2008.

Thank you for the details.

1.Did you get a chance to try to connect to the database from the MyEclipse Database Explorer view ?

2. Clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log. Now replicate the issue and copy paste the contents of the .log file here for us to investigate further.
