    Hi,

you recently released MyEclipse 10.6. The release notes don’t mention WebSphere Portal 8.

After a long beta period WebSphere Portal 8 has shipped in May. When can one expect WebSphere Portal 8 support in MyEclipse Blue / Bling?

    Kind regards

    Clavis,

I’ve added this to our feature request list. It will be a couple of months before we are able to release support for this – the support will likely be part of the first MyEclipse 11 release following MyEclipse 11.x and it will also possibly be backported into the MyEclipse 10.x stream.

    Any news about this feature?

We were planning to buy MyEclipse Blue for Websphere Portal development, but the latest version still doesn’t seem to support Websphere Portal 8.0

    vnicolici,

We will be working on Portal Server 8.0 for the 2013 SR2 release. It will be available in a couple of months.

    petar_b,

The MyEclipse 2013 SR1 release does not include support for Websphere Portal 8. It is targeted for MyEclipse 2013 SR2 release.

    Sorry for inconvenience caused.

I’m somewhat disappointed about the progress.

The product has been out in the market for over a year now. I reported the problem about a year ago and it is still not fixed.

The whole point for us in buying and renewing MyEclipse is the WebSphere Portal support. IBM nowadays ships free Eclipse WebSphere Application Server connectors. IntelliJ has support for the Standard WAS connectors as well. I’m missing the selling point for our 11 licences. 🙁

Trying to start WebSphere Portal 8 with the WebSphere Portal 7 connectors doesn’t work.

As our second feature request was ignored as well. I cannot refresh the status and retrieve the already running server.

How can I use MyEclipse with WebSphere Portal 8 now? Is there a work around? Can you provide us with a beta connector?

    Kind regards

    clavis,

I’m afraid there were too many items to take care of with the 2013 releases that made supporting this sever impossible for both 2013 GA and 2013 SR1.

I am putting this at high priority now, so my team is actively working on it and I will try to include it in the next upcoming maintenance release. We will likely send you a beta version of the connector for testing as well, since you are already using Portal server 8. At this moment I’m not aware of any workaround that would allow you to use the existing connector for version 7 with version 8.

Sorry for the delay and thank you for asking.
