I recently copied over BIRT to one project from another. It currently works fine as I can run it from my spring app, aside from a few formatting issues. However, when ever I try to open the file I get an error: org.eclipse.ui.PartInitException: ReportEditorProxy.text.InvalidProject
After this, I see only the xml and property tags. I cannot use the design UI. I am in the Report Design Perspective. I know that this can be solves quickly as one colleague who left accomplished the fix in a minute. Any ideas on what is causing this issue?
    Thanks.

Edit: It will not let me create a new report in the project I moved BIRT to. It only offers the previous project.

    rem955,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

Can you please answer some more questions for us ?

    1. Clear the contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log, replicate the issue and copy paste the entire contents of the .log file here for us to investigate further.

    2. Can you recheck if the reporting capabilities are added to the project to which the BIRT is copied ?

    3. Can you please check if you can recreate the report web project and see if it fixes the issue ?

    4. If the issue persists, please copy paste the Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.

Let us know how it works for you.
