    Hello,

I noticed the ME 2014 is now available for download, but the archive update is not available for this release yet. Do you plan to have it available anytime soon?

    Don,

Yes – we do intend to release the update / archived update site, you can expect it towards the end of this week or very early next week.

We’re curious to know, can you let me know why you need the archived update site? We do have easy to use installers for all platforms, they can even work in unattended mode if desired. Do you install MyEclipse into another Eclipse installation or need to use it with an existing installation system?

    Brian,

Thank you for your quick response. Below are reasons for wanting to install from the archive update:
    * I don’t trust any installation program that make changes to the windows registries and other configuration files within windows. Based on my past experience of installing numerous software, I have seen many too many software that cannot remove themselves cleanly and completely, sometimes rendering the host machine inoperable.
    * I want full control of my installation. By using the archive update, I can install the JDK, Elipse, and ME separately. Also, it also make it possible for me to update the JDK to the latest version w/o having to reinstall ME itself.

    Don,

Thanks for the feedback. While we are still committed to providing the archived update site, I want to address your specific concerns:

    1) MyEclipse does include an uninstaller which will uninstall cleanly. Installation and unisntallation are specifically tested.

    2) MyEclipse ships with a JDK to make things more convenient for most users, but there is nothing that prevents you from configuring your own in the workspace (Window > Preferences > Java > Installed JREs) or editing the myeclipse.ini file to start with a JDK of your choice. I admit, we are tightly coupled with an Eclipse version – but several times, that tight coupling will exist with the archived update site too, so there won’t be a difference between the archived update site and a MyEclipse installation.

Whatever your choice, just wanted to be clear about where we stand.

    Dear ME Support,

    I want to install a 32-bit ME 2014 on a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. I have 1.6.39 & 1.7.45 32-bit Java versions, because some software products I use do not support 1.7. The subfolders of the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Java are jdk1.6.0_39, jdk1.7.0_45, jre6 & jre7.

In July I have installed ME 2013 and then the problem was that ME 2013 installer was launching the 64-bit version installation, and not the 32-bit. So I have extracted the archive and launched pulse-one-32.exe, which installed ME 2013 without problems. The software is working since the installation (including today).

This time launching pulse-one-32.exe doesn’t work and its execution ends with error(s), which can be found in the txt & zip files.

    Thank you in advance,
    Lyubomir

    lyubomirs,

Are you using the online or the offline installers?

When you run the 2014 (or the 2013) offline EXE installers, the installer itself will ask you to choose whether you would like a 32 or 64 bit installation. Do you not see this screen when running the installer?

I am using the offline installers, but neither the 2013, nor the 2014 installers work without extracting the archive and running pulse-one-32.exe and not pulse-one-64.exe, because the latter, as well as the SFX offline installers (which always run pulse-one-64.exe) thow the following error:
“Failed to load the JNI shared library “C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_39\bin\..\jre\bin\client\jvm”.

The Java paths in the Paths variable are C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_39\bin\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin\.

After running pulse-one-32.exe I see the option to select 32-bit or 64-bit ME version, but the execution of both options ends with error(s), that can be found in the attachments of the previous reply.

    Hi lyubomirs,

I’m wondering if you could take a look at your registry via regedit for us and tell us what you see for the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_39\JavaHome

This might give us some information about what is going awry in the JRE autodetection process.

    Cheers,

The content of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment is shown in the second attached file.

There is no folder 1.6.0_39, but 1.7.0_45 and its content is shown in the first attached file.

I hoped that making a key 1.6.0_39 with the content of the key 1.7.0_45 (with changed paths) will solve the issue, but it persists.

I have also changed the value of the key Java6FamilyVersion in the main content in Java Runtime Environment to 1.6.0_39 (it was 1.6.0_37), but this didn’t help.

I have installed ME 2014 using an Eclipse update site as described in the instructions on the ME 2014 download site http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Recommend_Us&req=Download&version=ME.

I would like to ask whether this way of installing installs all features of the professional version of ME 2014 available in the Windows All-in-One offline installer and in the archived update site. If so, I guess I do not need to use the offine installer.

I have just noticed that I can’t find neither the mobile perspective, nor any mobile features in the installation of ME 2014 made through the update site.

I would like to ask how can I install the mobile tools and perspective.

Please excuse me for writing again, but I would like to ask how can I add the mobile perspective / features (Mobile Simulator, HTML5 Projects, etc.) in the ME 2014, installed from the update site.

I see the mobile features in the archived update site (i.e. the ZIP-file), but updating from it doesn’t add any of the mobile features.
