I’m currently using MyEclipse 8.0 Build id 8.0-20091120 on a Windows 7 computer. I’d like to move my work to a new Windows 8 computer. I attempted to install it (using an install file named myeclipse-8.0.0-win32.exe that I had kept from the original install) and it failed with the following error:

    session context was:(profile=com.poweredbypulse.profile-0-rb-578452,phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.phases.Configure, operand=null –> [R]com.sun.java.jdk.win32.x86 1.6.0.013, action=com.genuitec.pulse2.client.common.p2.SetVMAction).

The specified Java VM, C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\binary\com.sun.java.jdk.win32.x86_1.6.0.013\bin\javaw.exe does not

I would appreciate it very much for some advice and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

    Barry,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue. We couldn’t replicate the issue at our end on Windows 8 machine.

    > Can you please clarify if you have copy pasted any MyEclipse folders or any MyEclipse related files from Windows 7 machine to Windows 8 machine before installing MyEclipse 8.0 ? If yes, please remove them and try installing MyEclipse 8.0 again and check whether you can replicate the issue ?

    > Can you please mention at what step did the installation failed ? Did it fail even before selecting the installation path or after selecting the installation path ?

    > Did you make any changes to the default installation path ? If yes, please mention the path.

I suggest you download MyEclipse 8.0 installer again and try installing it, as the installer might be corrupted at your end. All requests for previous releases are handled by our sales team to ensure your complete satisfaction. So, please send an email to sales@genuitec.com and they will provide the download link for you. Be sure to include your name, subscription id, subscription code, MyEclipse version desired, and operating system so they can provide the correct download link without delay.
