    Hello,

I have just installed MyEclipse to see if it can serve as a proper tools for developing a JavaScript application in the browser.

    1) I am totally confused with the namings, numberings and guidance both of Eclipse as well as of MyEclipse. This is totally chaotic and very very misleading. It has cost my the whole of yesterday to identify what would be useful for me. Instead I must wade through piles of stuff for Java that I am not interested in at all.

    2) How can one install JSDT? I found nothing in the menus:
    – Install from Catalog…
    – Install from Site…
    or on the forums.

The search engine of this forum here is faulty anyway. For “install JSDT” it gives me 7.101 NOT fitting results and just for “JSDT” it fives mit about 250, which don’t help either.

On this page: https://wiki.eclipse.org/WTP_FAQ#How_do_I_install_WTP.3F it is required to identify the right release of Eclipse, but the MyEclipse menu DOES NOT give the needed information.

Which JDST version do I have to install and from where can I download it?

    3) Are there any other relevant JavaScript tools to load? From where?

    4) What I especially need is the ability to detect implementers and senders (callers) of methods within a mid-size to large project over many different files and classes. I know that this worked (though in a very primitive form), because I had used it a couple of years ago in a first JS project using MyEclipse.

Is this still the case? And which tools do I need? I don’t find it in my current (base?) MyEclipse installation. Without this (My)Eclipse would be of no use for me at all.

Thank you in advance for your support!

    Regards
    Josef

    Josef,

The JSDT support is already included in MyEclipse. You do not have to install it separately.

Can you please be elaborate on what exactly you are working on? Please give us steps in detail to help us understand better.

You can check if your project has JavaScript support from project >Properties > Project Facet and JavaScript checked in the list. If its unchecked, check it to add the JS support.

Please take a look at these links for more information about JS support in MyEclipse :

    Hello,

this feature does exist and it is in the menu Search -> Search.

Therefore, my previous post is solved.

    So I can use MyEclipse.

    Regards
    Josef
