    Hi,
I recently deployed Websphere7 locally and am trying to connect it from MyEclipse 10 Blue WAS7 connector. When I deploy my web application, I see the following in the console. Once deployed if I expand the Server node, I see that the deployed code says ‘Redeploy’. Also, when I run the server, the server starts up fine, but my application does not startup.

Please help in resolving this. It would be great if you can also point to the How-to page for MyEclipse10 Blue – Websphere7 documentation page. Let me know if any other information is needed.

    Saran,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue. Looks like your project has xmi format bindings files which are not supported for EE5 modules.

Please take a look at these possible solutions and check if they work for you :

    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21508184
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PK78515
    http://java-google-etc.blogspot.in/2010/12/converting-xmi-file-to-xml.html
    http://www.bloglovin.com/frame?post=1008727923&group=0&frame_type=b&blog=7457687

For help on working with Websphere in MyEclipse Blue, please take a look at this documentation :
    http://docs.myeclipseide.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.genuitec.eclipse.blue.doc%2Fhtml%2Ftutorials%2Fblue_connectors%2Findex.html&cp=1_9_2_6

The documentation has detailed instructions on setting up WAS 8.5 connector, but follow the same steps for WAS 7 and you should be good to go.

Let us know how it works for you.

Hi Swapna, thanks for the info. Yes my project had the J2EE1.4 xmi specifications. I had to use IBM’s convertApp to convert the xmi to xml for J2EE5 specifications. Now the app deploys fine.

BUT – when I try to start the application in DEBUG mode, the server just says ‘Starting…’ with nothing in the console – and I see the following error in Websphere’s native_stderr.log
JVMJ9TI001E Agent library jdwp could not be opened (The specified module could not be found. )
    JVMJ9VM015W Initialization error for library j9jvmti24(-3): JVMJ9VM009E J9VMDllMain failed
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

Please note that starting the server in “Run” mode works fine – I can see the app coming up without any issues. Only when I start under “Debug” mode I see this problem.

MyEclipse is running as administrator and I followed the suggestions mentioned in the below link too – but with no success.
    (ref: https://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-27179-postdays-0-postorder-asc-start-0.html)

Can you please help again with the “Debug” start?

    Thanks,
    Saran

Oh, I just stumbled on another thread – which talks about some work arounds and that the WAS7 debug issue has been fixed in MyEclipse Blue 2013 SR2

    http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-printview-t-27179-start-0.html

I will use the suggested work arounds in this FAQ: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/debugging-issues-with-websphere-application-server-7-64-bit/

    Thanks

    Saran,

Sorry that you are seeing issues with Debug.

If possible can you please move to MyEclipse Blue 2014, the latest version? You can download it from here : http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Recommend_Us&req=Download&version=MEBlue

Install it to a different location and give it a try.

Let us know if you see any issues.
