I have been attempting to install 2015 CI; but am getting an error. The error occurs immediately after the software has downloaded. It says “Software Not Available The installer you are attempting to use is out of date. The software that this installer delivers is no longer available on the original download servers. Download a new version of this installer from the delivery center portal and then re-attempt installation of the software.” The only option is “Quit”. I have tried this on both a Win 7 and Win 8 box. Note that I was successful downloading it on a Win 7 Box at home. So, I am suspecting some form of firewall issue. Is there any way to resolve this?

    I have to quote myself:

But is there an offline installer? Words can’t express how much I hate online installers …

I just tried it from here:

    http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Recommend_Us&req=Download2015

    Works for me.

    wleck,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

Can you please validate the file size of the downloaded installer file for Windows ?
    Online Installer: ~ 18mb

If you are behind firewall, please ensure you allow http://www.myeclipseide.com, http://www.poweredbypulse.com and http://www.genuitec.com through your firewall and retry.

Let us know how it works for you.

    Thanks Swapna:

As you know, when it comes to Windows your not really sure what to believe. But, yeah, it’s actually around 19MB. I’ve captured some screen shots that report the file size.

WRT the firewall, this is a corporate setting. Obviously, I am able to reach the Genuitec websites. Otherwise, I would not have been able to download the installer, or write to this post. Also, when the installer runs, it is definitely downloading the package. I can see progress status being reported and the download takes several minutes to complete. The failure comes AFTER the download has occurred.

I am truly hoping that it is not a firewall issue, as the chances of getting it changed are highly unlikely. Also, the conditions of any error WRT the firewall or network are hidden by the installer. If I even were to pursue an exemption, I’m not sure what I would ask for, since, as I said, I can get to the Genuitec and Myeclipseide sites.

    Bill

    Bill,

    Thank you for the screenshots.

Can you please send us the installer log file to help us investigate further ?
It is saved as pulse-one-<timestamp>.log in the Temp folder.

Here’s the log you requested. I took a look at it; and it does appear to be a firewall related issue. I looked at a couple of the error messages related to downloads. It appears that the Genuitec server is returning a 403 error in some cases. It then looks like it forces it to download from a mirrored site identified by an IP address. I tried manually downloading http://109.169.39.133/downloads/packs/eclipse-discovery/v4.4.0/updatesite/plugins/org.eclipse.datatools.enablement.sap.maxdb.dbdefinition_1.0.0.v201107221507.jar I was blocked. Then when I changed from the IP address to the downloads.genuitec.com, I could successfully download the file.

I hope this helps to identify the issue.

Looks like the log file was too big to be included. I compressed and re-attached.

    Bill,

Thank you for the log file.

We are working towards making the Offline Installer available for MyEclipse 2015 by the end of today. You can either wait for the offline installer or ensure the below host names and IP addresses are allowed through your firewall :

    Host names : downloads2.myeclipseide.com & downloads3.myeclipseide.com & downloads4.myeclipseide.com
    IP addresses :87.117.235.3 , 109.169.39.133 , 209.135.140.180, 109.169.39.133

Let us know if you see any issues.

    Thanks Swapna.

That is excellent news. I’ll plan to wait for the offline installer. Sounds like it may be less hassle.

Fyi, you can’t download anything anymore from here:

    http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Recommend_Us&req=Download2015

You keep getting redirected to that site.

I only wanted to let you know. I guess everyone here is a developer and knows that it’s not always working as planned. But I have to admit I’m totally looking forward to the next build 🙂
