    Hello,

I’ve installed MyEclipse Blue 14 and added a websphere blue connector to connect to a remote WebSphere 8. In the help section of MyEclipse Blue, two types of Deployment Types are described: Exploded Deployment (Development Mode) and Packaged Deployment (Production Mode). However, it seems that I cannot setup the exploded deployment for a remote connection. Is there a way to use an exploded archive over remote? And if not, are there any plans to implement this feature in near future?

Our company is highly interested in a faster deployment, especially when it comes to hot-code replacement/sync-on-demand. Installing a local WebSphere is out of the question.

    Thank you in advance.

    Teron,

I’m afraid that the remote connector has problems and you won’t be able to use it for remote deployment or debugging.

We’ve been retesting our remote connector support (along with your queries) and unfortunately we found quite a few issues with the feature. We are in the middle of rewriting the remote connector for the 2015 stream right now, but bottom line is that I would recommend not using the remote connector feature present in the MyEclipse 2014 or 2013 releases.

We do usually recommend a local installation of WebSphere for development but it seems that is not an option for you. Remote deployment and debugging will be a more manual process until we get remote support in the 2015 stream. Sadly, I can’t give you a timeline for that, at this point.

Sorry for the inconvenience and delay.
