I’m not exactly sure if I’m in the right topic to post something like this but I am having trouble trying to activate(?) red error codes in MyEclipse Pro 2014. I just downloaded it today and whenever I make an error, even on purpose like a misspelled keyword, MyEclipse won’t show red marks on the side like how Eclipse does. Is there any way I can fix this? Also, content assist doesn’t work for me neither. Any help would be gretaly appreciated!

    jmalinao,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue with MyEclipse.

    > Can you please check whether ‘Enable auto activation’ option under the Auto-Activation section is selected ? You can find it under Window > Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assist. (You could also click on ‘Restore Defaults’ to restore all the default values). Also, can you please navigate to Window > Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assist > Advanced and click on ‘Restore Defaults’ button and check if the content assist is working ?

    > Regarding validation, can you please check if you have excluded the project from validation. If yes, right click on project, navigate to MyEclipse and uncheck ‘Exclude from validation’. Also make sure that all the validations under Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Validations are checked/selected.

    > If the issue is still replicated, can you please switch to a clean new workspace and check if the content assist and validations are working.

    > If you are still seeing issues in the new workspace, can you please clarify on what editor were you working with and what piece of code were you trying to auto-complete (content assist) ? Also, please attach the whole new workspace folder to help us investigate. Also, please share your OS name and version details.
