    I have been using version 10.5 for a couple of years with JBoss AS7 and Tomcat 7 connectors for my JEE projects. I happened to want to look at the server configuration today and did a Configure Server Connector in the Servers view on my JBoss server. There was no connector dialog, it put me into the Servers in the Preferences and there were only a few servers there:

    MyEclipse Derby under Database Explorer
    MyEclipse Derby under Servers->Integrated Sandbox
    tc Server 2.x under Servers->SpringSource

    So I bit the bullet and upgraded to Pro 2014. The only change was that a new server appeared, Servers->TomEE->TomEE 1.x.

    I have switched perspectives, exited and restarted, exited and restarted with the -clean option (OS X command line variant), ran the installation repair option, then uninstalled everything (including the old 10.5 installation) and reinstalled 2014 from scratch. No changes.

    Where do I go from here?

    arabidopsis,

    Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

    1. Can you try switching to a clean new workspace and check if you can see the server preferences ?

    2. Can you clarify whether all the servers(JBoss server support, Tomcat server support,etc) are selected/checked under Window > Preferences > General > Capabilities > Advanced > Expand MyEclipse Standard Tools ? If not, please select/check them, click Apply and Ok and see if the servers preferences are enabled.

    3. Can you please share your OS Name and version details so that we could try to replicate the problem at our end ?

    4. If there are any errors of interest logged in the .log file, please attach the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log.

    I would suggest you to download and install MyEclipse 2015 CI 6 (latest version which is based on Eclipse Luna) alongside the existing MyEclipse 2014 installation and give it a try. With MyEclipse 2015 CI, we have merged our connector framework with the Web Tools server framework, giving you the best server tooling. Please see our delivery log for a list of new features in MyEclipse 2015.

    I switched to “Other” and entered a new workspace, and when that workspace fully initialized, the list of servers was there in the preferences.

    Is there an easy way to repair the settings to my original workspace? It’s quite complex and will take some time to migrate everything to a new workspace.

    In line with your recommendation to check Preferences > General > Capabilities > Advanced > Expand MyEclipse Standard Tools, I went there and indeed the servers were not checked. I checked the JBoss and Tomcat items, Accept, then tried the Configure Server Connector and it worked fine. All the JBoss and Tomcat entries are now there again.

    Thanks very much for your help!

    Best regards

    Bob,

    Glad that you got it working.

    You can use export to gather all workspace preferences/settings from MyEclipse and import it in to a new workspace. From the menu bar select File > Export. In the new window that opens go to General > Preferences > Next and follow the wizard to export your preferences to a .epf file. Similarly in the new workspace, you can use “Import” to get all the preferences into the new workspace.

    As suggested in my earlier response, I would recommend you to download and install MyEclipse 2015 CI 6 (latest version which is based on Eclipse Luna) alongside your existing MyEclipse 2014 installation and give it a try.

    Let us know if you see any issues with MyEclipse.
