After a clean install of MyEclipse 2014 GA, I only see Tomcat server definitions through Tomcat 7, with Tomcat 8 as a download option.

This was upon opening a workspace that I used from MyEclipse 2013, if that matters.

How do I get Tomcat 8 support? I need it, and I’d rather run it as a WTP server than an external process.

    Hi,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

Are you using the MyEclipse or WTP Tomcat connector ? We support WTP connector in MyEclipse 2015.

If you are using MyEclipse Tomcat connector, then please prepare a workspace which exhibits the issue, zip it and send it to help us replicate the issue at our end.

Rather frustrating when the first line of my initial message includes the version of MyEclipse I’m using, 2014GA.

Since I’m working on a mission-critical commercial application, I can’t use bleeding edge weekly CI snapshots, so 2015 CI is not on the table at this point. I just want to figure out why upgrading from 2013 to 2014 GA didn’t include the Tomcat 8 server profile.

Attached is a zip of a new workspace created with MyEclipse 2014GA. When I go to add a new Server project, Tomcat 8 is not an option. It is also not an option to download. from the “additional server definitions” link.

The release notes for MyEclipse 2014 say Tomcat 8 is supported. How do I get/enable it?

    Hi,

You can access the Tomcat 8.x connector in MyEclipse 2014 GA from : Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > Servers > Tomcat > Tomcat 8.x.

From MyEclipse 2015 onwards, the server connectors can be accessed from New > Other > Server wizard.

Let us know if you see any issues.
