    Hello,

I went through the installation process for MyEclipse and I am able to Start the MyEclipse Perspective. When I try to create a new project, I don’t see the J2EE Project Wizards. I am only able to see MyEclipse-Core under Customize Perspective->Other. Also, my trial version says it will expire on 9/6/03 4:39PM. I am unable to configure Application Server and Editors in Preferences->MyEclipse.

    Eclipse Platform – Version 2.1.1
    MyEclipse – Version 2.5.1

    Thanks

    Greg

    Greg,

only able to see MyEclipse-Core under Customize Perspective->Other

Then there’s something wrong with the startup process which is causing some of the plugins to shutdown. What is the build id of you Eclipse version (Help > About Eclipse Platform)? In the Eclipse plugins directory, how may plugins do you see that begin with org.eclipse.pde.*? What operating system are you running? Did you previously upgrade it to 2.1.1, or is it a fresh installation?

From the problem you’re seeing, I would guess that you don’t have the ‘full’ version of Eclipse installed, but rather one of the slimmed down ‘jdt’ releases or something. Please answer all of the questions above and we should be able to get you running quickly.

    Version: 2.1.1
    Build id: 200306271545

    I don’t see any org.eclipse.pde.*

    OS NT 4.0.1381

Both Eclipse and My Eclipse was a fresh install.

    Thanks

    Greg,

This is the problem. My guess was right in that you do have a “trimmed down” version of Eclipse installed. MyEclipse requires the full Eclipse 2.1.1 distribution in order to support the functionality it provides.

To correct the problem you’ll need to uninstall MyEclipse, download and install the full Eclipse 2.1.1 distribution (a link is provided in the download section on our website), and then install MyEclipse on top of the new Eclipse installation. This should correct all the problems you’re seeing.
