I created extremely simple test project on Linux with EnterpriseWorkbenchInstaller_020501.bin installed on Eclipse 2.1.1 and sun Jsdk1.4.2.

This test used JSTL. I was only including c.tld for simplicity, and used <c:out…> in a single JSP.

Eclipse could not compile the JSP, reporting “javax/servlet/jsp/JspTagException” in the description on the Tasks view – Line 0 of the JSP.

Loading the very same project into Windows – it works just fine – same JSDK and same Eclipse levels.

Looks like a serious problem with the Linux version.

I really like MyEclipse, but it’s usless to me on WIndows. Any chance this could be fixed post-hastey?

Certain JSP tag problems on Linux are known issues with version 2.5.1 due to differences with the way the classloaders function on Linux. However, they’ve been addressed in the internal builds and will be available in the next service release, which is scheduled for some time during the week of the 11th. Please be sure to subscribe to the Newsletter to be notified when the new build is available on the servers.
