    Hello,
just got up and running with this. I am trying to create a new EJB, I went through and created an EAR and also created an EJB module. Now, when I want to add an actual EJB to the EJB project I get this:

Unhandled exception caught in event loop.
    Reason:
    java.lang.NullPointerException

I am using Linux (Redhat 8.0)
    Eclipse 2.1
I downloaded the most current version of MyEclipse

Oh, I get the above error message on my console.

    Thanks!

Could you please provide all the information requested in the announcement in the forum titled “Posting Guidelines” to help us diagnose the problem?

Also, the complete exception should be in the Eclipse log file, located at <workbench>/.metadata/.log. Please email this file to support@mye…com and include the URL in the email for reference.

We should be able to figure it out rapidly with both the full platform information and the log file.

    Dave,

This problem has been determined to be a bug in the 1.3.1 JVM that you’re running. In all cases, upgrading to 1.4.1 or 1.4.2 and using that JDK to run Eclipse has resolved the issue.
