I have a problem with the Sync-on Demand. It simply does not copy the latest changes to my deployed exploded directory in my app server. My Eclipse setup and MyEclipse setup is the same as a colleague of mine and his works perfectly. The only difference that I have noticed is that mine lacks the DeploymentBuilder in the External Tools Builders section.

Will the absence of this prevent the auto-sync function from working?

    OS: Windows 2000 SP3
    Eclipse : Version: 2.1.1 Build id: 200306271545
Was Eclipse freshly installed for MyEclipse?: No
If not, was it upgraded to its current version using the update manager?: No
Are any other external plugins installed? : Yes – Struts Console
How many plugins in the <eclipse>/plugins directory are like org.eclipse.pde.* : 7
    MyEclipse Version : 2.5.0
JDK : JDK 1.4.02 for both
What application server are you using? : WebLogic 8.1

    Thanks,

    Jimmy

The DeploymentBuilder is the basically the Sync-on-Demand engine so lack of it will be problematic. It sounds like your installation didn’t quite go perfectly. Are there any interesting entries in the Eclipse log file <workspace>/.metadata/.log?

Another thing you need to have selected for Sync-on-Demand to work is the setting Window > Preferences > Workbench > Perform build automatically on resource modification.

Are you both using version 2.5.0 of MyEclipse? There were several updates to the deployer in 2.5.1 so perhaps your coworker has secretly upgraded on you. 🙂
