    Hi,
after running xdoclet, when I try to open the ejb-jar.file with XML Source Editor or Text editor I get the error message:

    Character encoding problems

This file is unreadable using th “UTF-8” character encoding.

    I use:
    MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 2.5.1
    Eclipse 2.1.1 Build 200306271545
    Java SDK 1.4.1

    Thanks all.

XDoclet does specify that the file encoding is UTF-8 at the top of the generated ejb-jar.xml file. Do you ever use an extended character sets in any package names or class names, such as European characters etc? Try opening the file using an external text editor. Are there an “special characters” in it?

I opened the file with wordpad and I found a “special character” in the bean description item.

    Now it’s all right.

    Thank you very much.
